Latent between hydrogen and metal:Low-Energy Nuclear Reactions(LENR).
Research and development of low-energy nuclear reactions (LENR) fueled by hydrogen. An approach entirely different from high-temperature fusion, aiming to harvest energy under mild, near-room-temperature conditions — a next-generation clean energy source.
Inquire about R&DAn entirelydifferent path from hot fusion.
LENR (Low Energy Nuclear Reactions) is a research field studying the absorption of hydrogen into metal lattices such as palladium or nickel, and the release of nuclear-scale energy under mild, near-room-temperature conditions. Unlike tokamak high-temperature fusion, which confines a plasma of hundreds of millions of degrees, LENR explores reactions in compact devices at relatively low temperatures and input energies. International efforts continue to improve reproducibility and elucidate the mechanism. GL-ARC conducts basic research and implementation studies with a view to its potential as an autonomous power source for AI data centers.
Hot Fusion vs. LENR
Confines a plasma of hundreds of millions of degrees with powerful magnetic fields to fuse deuterium and tritium. Requires massive devices and long-term development.
Absorbs hydrogen into a metal lattice and explores reactions under mild, near-room-temperature conditions. Features compact devices and relatively low input energy.
Three R&D Directions
Elucidating the Mechanism
Observes phenomena at the hydrogen–metal interface from both physical and chemical perspectives, scientifically identifying reproducible reaction conditions and the origin of the released energy.
Materials & Process
Optimizes metals such as palladium and nickel and their treatment / absorption processes to improve reaction stability and output density.
AIDC Application
Leveraging its compact, low-temperature nature to evaluate feasibility as an on-site, distributed clean power source for AI data centers.
On-siteclean power for computation.
If the vast power AI data centers demand could be supplied on-site without depending on the grid, location flexibility and carbon neutrality could coexist. LENR is one promising candidate GL-ARC is advancing through R&D.
